Air Inflatables
Summer 2016
Air can be thought of not just in the physical sense, but also as a space
for conversation and ideas.
As an independent advocacy service, we strive to encourage people to speak up about what is important to them- to get their voices heard. We displayed a series of photographs at Woodland View, the acute mental health facility and community hospital at Ayrshire Central Hospital in Irvine, as result of partnership working between staff and service users.
We started by talking through what the word 'Air' meant to us and how we could put that forward into large scale sculptures. Using basic materials, we then collaboratively created inflatable sculptures. Through the making of inflatables, we have worked together to represent the conversations we have shared throughout the project.
